1 RULES

1.1 The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules Of Sailing.

1.2 The SA Sailing Regulations for National and Regional Championships will apply.

1.3 Penalties: In RRS 44.1 “Two-Turns Penalty” is changed to “One-Turn Penalty”.

1.4 The Class Rules will apply except for any that are altered by the Notice of Race. The Class Race Management Guidelines will also apply, but a failure to follow these Guidelines is not on its own grounds for redress. This changes RRS 61.4(b).

1.5 To correct an error in RRS 60.4(a)(2), this rule is changed to read: “A protest is invalid if it alleges a breach of a rule of Part 2 or RRS 31 and is from a boat that neither saw the incident nor was involved in it.”

2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be posted on the online official noticeboard no later than 09h00 on 27 March 2026 and will be available at registration.

3 COMMUNICATION

3.1 The online official noticeboard is located at “29er class” WhatsApp group.

3.2 From the time this NoR is published until the start of the event any notices will be posted on the online official noticeboard.

4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

4.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the International 29er Class that meet official class measurement requirements, with the exception that sails manufactured by North Sails South Africa may be used during the regatta.

4.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the online entry form on RevSport and paying the entry fee by no later than 17h00 on 27 March 2026.

4.3 To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees.

4.4 All competitors shall be members in good standing of SA Sailing, a yacht club affiliated to and in good standing with SA Sailing (or their equivalent in the case of non-South Africans), and then 29er Class association.

4.5 Proof of such memberships may be required at registration.

5 FEES

Entry fees are as follows:

Early entry fee until midnight on 20 March 2026: R1000

Late entry fee after midnight on 20 March 2026: R1350

6 ADVERTISING

[DP] Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority.

7 SCHEDULE

7.1 Registration: 28 March 2026, from 08h00 – 10h00

7.2 Equipment inspection and event measurement: 28 March 2026, from 08h00 – 10h00.

7.3 Dates of racing: 28, 29 and 30 March 2026

7.4 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race is 12h00

7.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on subsequent days will be posted on the online official race noticeboard by 20h00 on the preceding day.

7.6 A maximum of 12 races are scheduled.

7.7 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 16h00

8 MEASUREMENT

8.1 At registration, each boat shall have a measurement declaration signed by the boat owner or helm.

8.2 Boats shall be available for equipment inspection at the above times and at any time required by the Race Officer for the duration of the regatta.

9 SUPPORT PERSON VESSELS

[DP] Support person vessels shall be marked with a white flag.

10 PRIZES

Prizes will be given as follows:

10.1 SA Sailing medals in accordance with SA Sailing fleet requirements for medals.

10.2 Class medals and trophies as follows:

11 RISK STATEMENT

RRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.” Competitors participate in this event entirely at their own risk. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

12 INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum
cover equivalent to the SA Sailing Intasure insurance policy.
