Our Condolences to Craig Middleton and Riana Martin, their families and friends on the passing of Carol and Aubrey.
May their Souls Rest in Peace.
March is the end of our financial year so our club Treasurer, Beverley Bews, is very busy with the Auditors once again, to have all the financials and reports available for the AGM in May,
Please remember to diarise the AGM and End of Season Club Dinner and prize giving for Saturday 20 May. Beverley sent out the various forms for the AGM recently.
If you feel that you would like to stand for nomination for the Committee so that you can actively contribute with your time and effort towards the running and growing of the Club, please complete the nomination form, it will be greatly appreciated,
We welcome Abrie Voges as our new barman at the “Rusty Anchor Pub” and wish him smooth sailing in the uncharted waters of the Bar!
The images below (apologies for the poor quality) are taken from the “Application for amendment of environmental authorisation for the establishment of the Molapong aquaculture project in Saldanha Bay, which could pose further restrictions on the sailing area available……the price of progress I guess!!
We were hit by a strong easterly wind on the evening of Thurs. 23rd. Unfortunately, Orsan broke her mooring strop (bridle) and ended up on the rocks at the Navy, who did their best to tie her up and stop her from sinking completely.
Wynand tied additional fenders to her stern on Friday, buoys at her bow on Sat 25th and towed her back to the Club , ably assisted by Trevor and Patrick…Well done to all involved!!!!!
Tranquility Blue and The Dansand also suffered some damage too, remember the big easterly storm which caused severe damage to several yachts last year, pretty much the same time period, these big easterly winds are definitely becoming more frequent.
See you at the club!
