Open to all dinghy classes. \nNotice of Race\nDates: 10-11 October 2026 \nVenue: Saldanha Bay Yacht Club \nOrganising Authority: Saldanha Bay Yacht Club \nRegatta Centre: The regatta centre will be located at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club \nNOTICE OF RACE \n1 RULES \nThe event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. \n2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS \nThe sailing instructions will be posted on the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club Website www.sbyc.co.za \n3 COMMUNICATION \n3.1 From the time this NOR is published until the start of the event any notices will be posted on the official online notice board on the SBYC website as well as the regatta WhatsApp group. \n4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY \n4.1 The regatta is open to all dinghy classes. \n4.2 Boats may enter by completing the entry form and submitting\, together with the fee\, as directed on the SBYC website. Entries close @ 0900 on the 28th of October. Late entries will be accepted until 0800 on the 1st of November. \n4.3 To be considered an entry in the event\, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees. \nAll competitors shall be members in good standing of SA Sailing and of a yacht club affiliated to and in good standing with SA Sailing (or their equivalent in the case of non-South Africans) and legally permitted to compete. \n4.4 Proof of such membership shall be presented at registration. \n4.5 The regatta centre will be located at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club. \n5 FEES \nEntry fees are as follows: \nSingle handed boat -R200\nDouble handed- R300 \n5.1 Payable into the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club account: \nNAME: SBYC\nBank: FNB\nAcc no:54645218271\nBranch Code: 250655\nRef: Name & SBYCDG25 \nOr make use of our Paygate on SBYC website. \n6 ADVERTISING \n[DP] Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority. \n7 SCHEDULE \n7.1 Registration: Friday 31st October from 1800 to 1900 & Saturday 1st Nov. from 0800-0900 \n7.2 Dates of racing: 1st & 2nd November 2025 \n7.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on 1st Nov. is 0930. \n7.4 A maximum of 5 races is scheduled. \n7.5 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 1400. \n8 MEASUREMENT \n8.1 On request each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate. \n8.2 Boats shall be available for equipment inspection at any time during the regatta. \n9 SUPPORT PERSON VESSELS \nSupport person vessels shall be marked with white flag. \n10 PRIZES \nPrizes will be given to the top 3 in each class with 5 or more entries and to an open class for classes with less than 5 entries. \n11 RISK STATEMENT \nRRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.”  Competitors participate in this event entirely at their own risk. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to\, during\, or after the regatta. \n12 INSURANCE \nEach participating boat is encouraged to carry enough valid third-party liability insurance to cover any liability\narising during the event. \n13 ACCOMMODATION\, FACILITIES and REFRESHMENTS \nInformation re the above can be found on the SBYC website on the appropriate events page.
