DESCRIPTION:Dates: 28th February – 1st March 2026\nVenue: Blue Bay Lodge\, Bluewater Bay\, Saldanha.\nOrganising Authority: Saldanha Bay Yacht Club\nRegatta Centre: The regatta centre will be located at Saldanha Bay Yacht Club \nNOTICE OF RACE\nDownload the Notice of Race: https://www.sbyc.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/2026-Windsurfer-NOR.pdf \n1 RULES \n1.1 The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules Of Sailing\, 2025-2028.and adapted as required to suit the specific requirements with regard to Windsurfers \n2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS \nThe sailing instructions will be posted on the online official notice board no later than 24H00 on 27th February 2026 and will be available at registration. \n3 COMMUNICATION \n3.1 The online official notice board is located at www.sbyc.co.za. \n3.2 In addition the organising authority and Race Committee will communicate with competitors via the Windsurfer WhatsApp group for the event. Note that this is not the Official Notice Board. \n4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY \n4.1 The regatta is open to all Windsurfers that meet the stipulated class standards. \n4.2 A minimum of 7 boats are required to constitute a Class. \n4.3 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form and submitting it\, together with the fee\, as directed on the website www.sbyc.co.za. Online registration is also on www.sbyc.co.za \n4.4 To be considered an entry in the event\, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees. \n4.5 Entries will be accepted until 1000 on 28th February 2026. \n4.6 The race office will be in the regatta centre located at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club. \n5 FEES \nEntry fees are as follows: \nStandard entry fees:\n• Single Handed: R250 \nPayable into the Saldanha Bay Yacht bank account \nNAME: SBYC\nBank: First National Bank\nAccount Type: Current\nAccount Number:546 452 182 71\nBranch Code: 250 655\nRef: Name & Windsurfer26 \n6 ADVERTISING \nBoats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority. \n7 SCHEDULE \n7.1 Registration: Friday 27th February from 16H30 – 19H00 and Saturday 28th Febryary from 07H00 – 10H00 at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club or Blue Bay Lodge site. \n7.2 Dates of racing: 28th February and 1st March 2026 \n7.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race on 28th February is 12H00. \n7.4 A maximum of 6 races are scheduled\, and no more than 4 races shall be sailed on any given day. \n7.5 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 14H00. \n8 MEASUREMENT \n8.1 On request Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate as required by their respective class rules. \n8.2 Boats shall be available for spot equipment inspection at any time during the regatta. \n9 SUPPORT PERSON VESSELS \nSupport person vessels shall be marked with white flag. Support vessels are requested to please notify that they will be at the event via an e-mail to sailing@sbyc.co.za. \n10 PRIZES \nPrizes will be given to the top 3 in each class with 7 or more entries. \n11 RISK STATEMENT \nRRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.” Competitors participate in this event entirely at their own risk. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to\, during\, or after the regatta. \n12 INSURANCE \nEach participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover equivalent to the SA Sailing Intasure Insurance Policy. \n13 FURTHER INFORMATION \nFor further information please contact Carika Rabe (Regatta Secretary) @ 0217700884 or email: sailing@sbyc.co.za. \nWindsurfing Regatta 2026 Logistics Update\nMeeting and Launch Location: Blue Bay Lodge\n\nBoards and trailers can be stored at Blue Bay Lodge.\nThe launch area will be from the beach in front of the Blue Bay Lodge.\nBoards can be left on the lawn in front of the Blue Bay Lodge between races.\nThe group will be meeting at the Blue Bay Lodge on Saturday morning (February 28).\n\nRegatta Centre and Club Activity\n\nThe regatta centre is at the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club.\nNote that the club will be busy on Saturday due to the overlapping Mykonos Bay race for keel boats.\n\nContact and Further Updates\n\nFor any specific info\, contact Carika Rabie directly @ 0217700884 or email: sailing@sbyc.co.za.\nWe’re monitoring the weather closely — fingers crossed for some breeze! 🤞
