And just like that, December 2022 is gone!

Our Condolences to Peter and the Bews family on the untimely loss of Charlotte, our thoughts and prayers are with you, may she Rest in Peace,

Well done and thank you to all those who took part in the SAS 75th Anniversary weekend which was held over the long weekend 16th – 18th December, there was over twenty yachts anchored in Kraal Bay for the event!!

The West Coast Cruise started at SBYC on the 27th, there were 30 entries into the event, including a few SBYC yachts, there was a weather warning for the 28th/29th so the POYC organising committee decided that all boats will head directly to Port Owen on the 28th and they would rather cruise out on the 30th for an over-night stop-over in Stompneus Baai. The reports we received from the SBYC participants of the West Coast Cruise were all extremely positive and everyone had a most enjoyable time, thank you to Port Owen Yacht Club for organizing an awesome event, everyone is looking forward to the next one!!

We have SBYC members taking part in both the Cape Town to St Helena Island and the Cape to Rio races, we wish them all fair winds and following seas, be safe out there and have an absolute blast!!

I had the Privilege of doing a Burgee exchange with the crew of “Always Saturday”, from the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, we will add their burgee to the burgees displayed in the club house.

As we enter the New Year, I wish everyone a clear course, may your anchor be tight, your cork be loose, your rum be spiced and your compass be true!

All the Best for 2023!!

See you at the Club!
