South African Sailing has a mandatory retirement age of 80 for Safety Officers which means that Mike Rothenburg after a long innings will shortly be retiring from doing CoF’s and Hull Surveys on vessels over 9 metres.

Thank you Mike for your dedication and assistance to many members over the years!!!

However the good news is that Trevor, Steve and I after studying and writing the exam have been appointed as Safety Officers by SAS to do both Cof’s and Hull Surveys.

Going forward members should contact one of us for their CoF’s and Hull surveys.

We will also be able to assist members with COF’s for vessels less than 9m as Rob Dyer is busy with projects and does not have a lot of time available presently
